Our first stop is the Citadel of Qaitbay, a 15th-century fortress built on the original site of the ancient Pharos Lighthouse, once one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. Constructed by Sultan Al-Ashraf Qaitbay to defend Egypt’s coastline, the citadel showcases Mamluk and Ottoman architectural styles and offers panoramic views of the sea. Explore its preserved chambers and towers as you step back into Egypt’s medieval history.

Montazah Gardens and Palace

Next, enjoy a peaceful stroll through the stunning Montazah Gardens, once the summer residence of the Egyptian royal family. Surrounded by palm trees, fountains, and floral landscapes, the gardens are also home to the Montazah Palace, blending Ottoman and Florentine architecture. It’s the ideal spot to relax, take photos, and enjoy a light refreshment at one of the nearby cafés.

Mosque of Abu al-Abbas al-Mursi

We then visit the Mosque of Abu al-Abbas al-Mursi, one of Alexandria’s most beautiful and important religious landmarks. Built in the 18th century, it features intricate Islamic architecture, ornate calligraphy, and a peaceful courtyard. Non-Muslim visitors are welcome—just remember to dress modestly and remove shoes before entering.

Stanley Bridge

Our final stop is Stanley Bridge, a historic and scenic bridge spanning Alexandria’s eastern harbor. Built in 1930, it offers breathtaking views of the Mediterranean coastline and city skyline. Your first stop is Madaba, home to the famous Greek Orthodox Church of St. George, where you’ll admire the stunning 6th-century Byzantine mosaic map depicting the Holy Land and biblical landmarks. Next, visit Mount Nebo, the legendary burial site of the prophet Moses, offering panoramic views over the Holy Land.

Continue your journey crossing dramatic landscapes like Wadi al-Mujib, a spectacular 1-kilometer deep canyon, and visit the historic Kerak Castle. This impressive 12th-century Crusader fortress, built by King Baldwin I of Jerusalem and later captured by Saladin in 1188, provides commanding views of the surrounding hills and plains.

Access to this UNESCO World Heritage Site is through the narrow Siq—a dramatic rock cleft rising 200 meters high and narrowing to just two meters wide.

Begin with a 2-3 hour guided tour through Petra’s famous landmarks, including the iconic Khazneh (Treasury), carved from rock facades, ancient Nabatean water channels, terracotta pipes, tombs, a Roman amphitheater, and colonnaded streets. After the guided portion, enjoy free time to explore independently. Adventurous travelers can hike up the steep path to the Monastery—an awe-inspiring monument standing 50 meters tall—offering breathtaking views of Wadi Araba and the Jordan Valley. Other highlights include the High Place of Sacrifice and the Lion Fountain. The day involves walking at least 3 kilometers through the Siq and additional climbs, totaling over 800 steps.
