Itinerary

Day 1Amman

Ahlan wa sahlan! Welcome to Jordan. Your adventure kicks off in Amman with a welcome meeting at 6 pm this evening, where you’ll get to know your local guide and fellow travelers. If you arrive early, consider enjoying panoramic views of the city from the Amman Citadel, visiting the Jordan Museum to see the famous Dead Sea Scrolls, or taking a trip to Jerash to explore the impressive ruins of this ancient walled city dating back 2,000 years. After the meeting, why not venture out to sample ara’yes — Jordan’s delicious toasted sandwiches loaded with flavorful spiced meats?

Day 2Petra

This morning, take a minibus ride to Mount Nebo, the legendary site where the prophet Moses is believed to be buried and where he first glimpsed the ‘Promised Land.’ Explore the ancient mosaics inside the fourth-century church and, if the skies are clear, enjoy breathtaking views stretching across the Dead Sea to Israel and the Palestinian Territories. Next, head to the Dead Sea, the lowest point on Earth, renowned for its extreme saltiness that lets you effortlessly float on its surface. Don’t forget to cover yourself in the mineral-rich mud, famed for its therapeutic benefits—nature’s very own spa treatment. Afterwards, journey on to the imposing Crusader castle of Kerak, perched atop a cliff with stunning views of the surrounding valley. Wander through its seven levels and uncover tales of fierce 12th-century battles between Crusaders and Muslim forces. Finally, continue onward to Petra, where you’ll spend the night.

Day 3Petra

Today, you’ll discover Petra — Jordan’s crown jewel, the ancient Nabatean city, and one of the Seven Wonders of the World! Begin your journey by walking through the narrow Siq, a winding gorge that leads to the breathtaking facade of the Treasury. Marvel at the detailed stone carvings before spending the afternoon exploring the site at your own pace. Wander along the old Roman road, visit various temples and tombs, and check out the rock-cut amphitheatre. For the more adventurous, embark on a steep hike up the stairs to the impressive Monastery, a quieter but equally stunning monument that takes about an hour to reach. After returning to your lodging, consider visiting a traditional bathhouse to relax and refresh after a full day of exploration.

Day 4Wadi Rum

This morning, travel to Wadi Rum, a dramatic desert landscape shaped by towering sandstone cliffs and vast, moon-like plains. Embark on a half-day jeep safari to explore this striking terrain, where you’ll discover ancient rock inscriptions ranging from pictographs to Thamudic, Nabataean, and Arabic scripts—remnants of civilizations long past. The most remarkable sights here are nature’s masterpieces: natural rock arches, massive sand dunes, and scattered rugged peaks. As night falls, settle into a traditional desert camp beneath a camel hair tent. Enjoy a delicious dinner prepared in an earthen oven by your Bedouin hosts, all while soaking up the serene and unforgettable desert atmosphere.

Day 5 Nuweiba

This morning, depart from Wadi Rum and head toward Nuweiba. You’ll travel by road to Aqaba, where you’ll say goodbye to your Jordanian guide before boarding a ferry to Taba. Upon arrival in Egypt, your local Egyptian guide will welcome you and escort you to your accommodation in Nuweiba. The afternoon is yours to unwind, recharge, or explore the area at your leisure.

Day6Dahab

t’s a short drive to the relaxed seaside town of Dahab, where you’ll stay for the next two nights. The name Dahab means ‘gold’ in Arabic, and this once-quiet Bedouin fishing village has grown into a charming tourist destination, famed for its perfect conditions for diving, windsurfing, and rock climbing. Despite its popularity, Dahab has kept its authentic, laid-back vibe that’s been drawing visitors since the 1970s. Spend your free afternoon strolling through cozy cafes, savoring fresh seafood, or snorkeling in the crystal-clear waters of the Red Sea. Dahab is famous for its dramatic drop-offs—stunning coral reefs that suddenly plunge into the deep blue ocean. When the sun sets, relax at one of the many bars or restaurants, enjoying delicious local dishes and a traditional sheesha.

Day7Dahab

This morning, consider grabbing a snorkel and heading out to the famous Blue Hole — one of the most iconic diving locations in the world. Named after a deep underwater sinkhole that plunges to around 94 meters, the Blue Hole features a reef arch at 54 meters deep, accessible only to advanced technical divers. But for snorkelers, the real magic happens at the surface. Glide over the reef and peer into the vast blue below, then follow the route around to “the Bridge,” a spot known for crystal-clear visibility and vibrant, untouched coral teeming with colorful fish and marine life.

After your underwater adventure, head back to Dahab for a relaxing evening. Treat yourself to dinner at a seaside restaurant, or venture inland to Assalah, where you can enjoy local favorites like roast chicken and falafel—best paired with a cold regional beer and good company.

Day8Cairo

Today, you’ll catch a flight to Egypt’s lively capital, Cairo — a city steeped in history and buzzing with energy. Known for its contrasts, Cairo is home to both ancient wonders and vibrant modern life, symbolized perfectly by the awe-inspiring Pyramids of Giza and the majestic Mosque of Mohammed Ali.

This evening at 6 pm, you’ll meet your new travel group for the next leg of your journey. Before the meeting, you might choose to visit the Mosque of Mohammed Ali at your own pace, wander through Cairo’s colorful markets, or escape the city’s chaos with a peaceful stroll through the historic Coptic Christian quarter.

Later, why not join your fellow travelers for a group dinner and toast to the adventures still to come?

Day9Cairo

After breakfast, get ready to explore some of Egypt’s most iconic landmarks. Begin your day at the legendary Pyramids of Giza — one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World — along with the enigmatic Sphinx standing guard nearby. These towering monuments have endured for over 4,500 years, and for an extra fee, you might even venture inside the Great Pyramid of Khufu for a truly unique experience.

Later, dive into Egypt’s rich history with a visit to the Egyptian Museum, home to one of the world’s most remarkable collections of ancient treasures. Or, if you prefer a more modern take, head to the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization, where you can walk through the Mummies Hall and come face-to-face with some of Egypt’s most powerful rulers from centuries past.

In the evening, regroup with your leader and head to Giza train station to board the overnight sleeper train bound for Aswan — your next stop in this unforgettable journey.

Day10Cairo

Welcome to Aswan — Egypt’s southernmost city — where the Nile flows serenely around Elephantine Island and white-sailed feluccas glide across the water. Today is yours to explore at your own pace. You might choose to visit the impressive High Dam or the massive Unfinished Obelisk, still attached to the bedrock it was carved from. For a deeper cultural experience, wander through the colorful Nubian Bazaar or pay a visit to the Nubian Museum, a favorite among travelers for its rich displays of Nubian history and heritage.

If you’re up for more sightseeing, consider a trip to the Temple of Isis on Philae Island. Dedicated to the goddess of health, marriage, and wisdom, this beautifully preserved temple complex was relocated stone by stone to save it from flooding when the Aswan Dam was built. Its elegant pylons and intricate carvings are a true highlight of ancient Egyptian architecture.

As evening falls, unwind with a mint tea along the scenic corniche. Watch as locals gather by the waterfront, children play, and the city comes alive with the soft glow of dusk.

Day11Aswan

This morning offers the perfect opportunity to venture out of Aswan and visit the awe-inspiring temples of Abu Simbel, if they’re on your must-see list. Guarded by four colossal statues of Ramses II, the Great Temple is one of Egypt’s most unforgettable landmarks.

If you choose to stay in Aswan, the day is yours to explore at your leisure. A popular option is an afternoon felucca cruise — a peaceful sail around the Nile’s islands aboard a traditional wooden boat, with a stop at the lush botanical gardens on Kitchener’s Island. Whether you’re in the mood for sightseeing or simply soaking up the riverside scenery, your local leader will be around to offer tips and suggestions.

Prefer to keep it low-key? Unwind by the Nile, or wander through the lively bazaar for some local crafts, spices, and souvenirs.

Day12Nubian Homestay

This morning, set sail on a traditional Egyptian felucca for a relaxing cruise along the Nile. Drift past peaceful riverbanks and enjoy the tranquil rhythm of life on the water. After a simple lunch served on board, you’ll arrive at a Nubian village on the Nile’s west bank for a special homestay experience.

From the river, take a scenic walk through farmlands and fields to reach your hosts’ home — a traditional Nubian house centered around a sandy courtyard where the family gathers to eat and socialize. You’ll get a genuine taste of local life here. Join your hosts in the kitchen to help prepare a home-cooked meal, or kick a football around with the neighborhood kids.

Spending the night in a Nubian homestay offers a unique window into Egypt’s rich culture — a chance to connect, share stories, and experience the warm hospitality that makes this part of the journey truly unforgettable.

Day13Nile Falucca

Board another felucca today and enjoy a day out on the river, seeing rural Egyptian daily life play out on the banks before spending a night under the stars. Your sailing crew will provide all your onboard meals. The felucca is a traditional wooden boat with broad canvas sails, offering some shade and protection from the elements, but there is no cabin or enclosed section – watching the sun setting over the Nile in the evening from an open deck is an experience you won’t forget.

Day14Luxor

After saying goodbye to the felucca crew, hop into a private van and travel to Luxor — once the ancient city of Thebes and now one of Egypt’s most captivating destinations. Your first stop is the awe-inspiring Karnak Temple, one of the largest and most remarkable temple complexes ever built. Spanning over 200 years of construction by generations of pharaohs, Karnak is a true masterpiece of ancient architecture. On a guided tour, you’ll walk through towering pylons, chapels, and obelisks, and marvel at highlights like the Avenue of Sphinxes and the Great Temple of Amun.

Later, pay a visit to Animal Care in Egypt (ACE) — a compassionate local organization and Intrepid Foundation partner providing free veterinary services to working animals in the area. Learn how their efforts are making a real difference in the community.

The rest of the day is yours to unwind. You might browse the local bazaar, open late into the evening, or settle in at a traditional teahouse to watch daily life unfold around you.

Day15Luxor

Start your day early with a journey into the legendary Valley of the Kings, where more than 60 tombs lie hidden beneath the sunbaked hills. This sacred site served as the final resting place for the pharaohs of Egypt’s New Kingdom (16th–11th century BC), their elaborate tombs carved deep into the rock and adorned with intricate reliefs and vivid wall paintings.

With your guide leading the way, uncover the fascinating stories behind these royal burials — from ancient beliefs about the afterlife to the meaning of the hieroglyphics that still line the tomb walls. You’ll visit three of the most captivating tombs, each with its own unique artwork and layout.

From there, continue on to the stunning Temple of Queen Hatshepsut, a striking terraced structure set dramatically against towering limestone cliffs. This architectural marvel honors one of Egypt’s most powerful and trailblazing female rulers and offers insight into her extraordinary reign.

Day16Hurghada

This morning, say goodbye to the Nile as you set off eastward toward the coastal town of Hurghada. Leaving behind the lush riverbanks, your journey takes you through the stark beauty of the Eastern Desert. Along the way, rugged hills rise around you, and before long, the shimmering blue waters of the Red Sea appear on the horizon, with the dramatic outline of the Sinai Peninsula visible across the bay.

Hurghada, a lively beach resort town, offers a different side of Egypt — more relaxed and laid-back than the ancient sites you’ve explored. Once you’ve checked into your hotel, join your leader for an orientation walk to get familiar with the area and discover some of the best local spots for dining and unwinding by the sea.

Day17Hurghada

Head to the Hurghada Marina this morning and board your motor yacht for an unforgettable day exploring the crystal-clear waters of the Red Sea Marine Park. With snorkelling gear provided, you’ll visit three carefully chosen reef sites, each offering a chance to discover vibrant marine life and some of the most stunning coral formations in the region.

Between swims, relax on deck and enjoy a freshly prepared lunch featuring local favorites like grilled kofta, fish, rice, and a variety of fresh salads. Throughout the day, soft drinks, tea, and coffee will be available to keep you refreshed.

In the mid to late afternoon, return to Hurghada and transfer back to your hotel with the Red Sea’s underwater beauty still fresh in your mind.

Day18Cairo

Travel back to Cairo in a private vehicle. Upon arrival, join your leader for a stroll through the city’s historic Islamic quarter and the bustling maze of the Khan el-Khalili bazaar. As one of the oldest and largest markets in the world, the Khan winds through the ancient district of Al-Azhar, offering an unforgettable sensory experience.

Explore the glittering gold market, wander down ‘Perfume Street,’ and immerse yourself in the vibrant spice market, where rich fragrances fill the air like a thick, fragrant tapestry. Just nearby, you can browse the colorful cloth market, home to beautiful Damascene textiles you might want to take home as a keepsak

Day19 Alexandria

Today, board a private van and travel along the scenic ‘desert road’ to Alexandria, Egypt’s bustling port city and second-largest urban center. Often called the Bride of the Mediterranean, Alexandria offers a unique blend of history and vibrant coastal charm.

Upon arrival, join your leader for an orientation walk to get acquainted with the city’s highlights. Founded in 331 BC by the Greek architect Dinocrates on the orders of Alexander the Great, Alexandria quickly grew into a thriving hub of culture, intellect, politics, and commerce — a city that proudly carries the legacy of its namesake.

Take some time afterward to stroll along the picturesque corniche, breathe in the crisp Mediterranean breeze, and soak up the lively atmosphere of this historic coastal gem.

Day20Alexandria

Today, step back into a more recent chapter of Egypt’s history with a visit to El Alamein and its war museum. This site was a crucial turning point in the North African campaign during World War II, where Allied forces successfully resisted and eventually defeated Rommel’s Afrika Korps.

The area is dotted with memorials honoring the soldiers from various nations who fought and fell here—including Greece, South Africa, Australia, and Italy—and is home to a war cemetery that holds the graves and names of thousands of those who lost their lives.

Explore the museum to learn about the dramatic events that took place in this desert battleground before returning to Alexandria. While in town, be sure to enjoy some of the city’s famous seafood and savor fresh, locally caught fish.

Day21Cairo

This morning, venture below the streets to explore the Kom Ash Shuqqafa catacombs—Egypt’s largest Roman-era burial site. Discovered quite by chance (thanks to a curious donkey), these underground tombs lie 20 meters beneath the surface. What started as a modest family tomb eventually expanded into a vast maze of chambers designed to hold over 300 bodies.

Next, visit the strikingly modern Bibliotheca Alexandrina, a contemporary tribute to the legendary ancient library, housing more than eight million books. Then, stop by the impressive El Morsi Abu El Abbas Mosque, the largest in the city.

During your free time, you might want to explore the Citadel of Qaitbay, a historic fortress perched on the Mediterranean coast that stands on the site of the famed ancient lighthouse.

Later, leave Alexandria behind and return to Cairo. This evening, consider gathering with your fellow travelers to celebrate your journey with some delicious kebabs, kofta, or a relaxing sheesha session

Day22Cairo

After breakfast, your adventure comes to an end. There are no scheduled activities today, and you’re free to check out and leave the accommodation at your convenience. If you wish to extend your stay, simply contact your booking agent in advance to make arrangements.
