Ahlan wa Sahlan to Egypt!
Your unforgettable journey begins the moment you land at Cairo International Airport, where you’ll be warmly greeted and transferred to your hotel. Later this evening, at 6pm, an essential welcome meeting will set the tone for your Egyptian adventure.

Cairo, a timeless city rich with ancient wonders, tells its story through legendary landmarks like the mighty Pyramids of Giza and the enigmatic Sphinx. Got some free time before the meeting? Dive into the vibrant chaos of Cairo’s streets or discover the historic Cairo Citadel – a majestic fortress built in 1176, now home to fascinating museums and stunning mosques.

Day 2

Step into the Land of Legends!
After a hearty breakfast, get ready to witness two of the most legendary wonders on Earth – the awe-inspiring Pyramids of Giza and the mysterious Sphinx. Stand in the shadow of these ancient giants, over 4500 years old, and let a local expert bring their rich history to life. Feeling adventurous? For an extra fee, you might even step inside the Great Pyramid of Khufu – a rare and unforgettable experience (note: access may be limited at times).

Keep in mind, the sun can be relentless at the pyramid site, especially in summer, so dress smart and stay hydrated!

Next, journey into the heart of ancient Egyptian glory at the Egyptian Museum, home to a dazzling collection of priceless relics. From Tutankhamun’s golden treasures to intricate sarcophagi and his iconic death mask, every room whispers secrets of the pharaohs’ past – and their extravagant preparations for the afterlife.

After a full day of exploration, return to your hotel for a quick refresh before embarking on your next chapter – an exciting overnight sleeper train to Luxor, the ancient city of kings and temples

Day 3

Rise and shine for an unforgettable start to your day – you’ll arrive in the legendary city of Luxor around 6am, just as the sun begins to light up the Nile Valley. Embrace the peace and magic of the early morning with a visit to the awe-inspiring Karnak Temple – a vast and magnificent complex of temples, chapels, and pylons that stands as one of the greatest architectural feats of ancient Egypt.

Step into the heart of a sacred sanctuary that evolved over more than a thousand years and once stood as the most important religious site in all of Egypt. As you wander through its grand stone columns and towering structures, your expert leader will guide you through its fascinating highlights – from the majestic Avenue of Sphinxes to the colossal Great Temple of Amun.

After this deep dive into ancient wonder, it’s time to board your elegant Nile River Cruise. Settle into your cabin and take in the gentle rhythm of the river. Later this afternoon, you’ll have the option to join a guided walking tour through the bustling city of Luxor, where you can stroll through vibrant bazaars, soak up local life, and uncover hidden corners of this timeless land.

Day 4

Get ready for an extraordinary journey through the heart of ancient Thebes. This morning, you’ll step into a private minivan and head to Luxor’s west bank – a land steeped in mystery and legend. Your first stop is the mighty Colossi of Memnon, two towering statues that rise 17 metres high, standing guard over the silent ruins of ages past.

From there, descend into the legendary Valley of the Kings – a haunting and beautiful necropolis hidden beneath sun-scorched hills. Here lie the secrets of more than 60 pharaohs, entombed in richly decorated chambers meant to guide them through the afterlife. With your expert leader, you’ll delve into the fascinating world of the New Kingdom rulers, walking through corridors still adorned with vibrant paintings and intricate hieroglyphics that have withstood the test of time.

Step inside three of the royal tombs, including the famous resting place of Tutankhamun – where the boy king still lies, shrouded in mystery and gold. Then, emerge from the shadows of the underworld and gaze in awe at the stunning Temple of Queen Hatshepsut, an architectural marvel carved into sheer cliffs, blending nature and artistry in one breathtaking scene.

The afternoon is yours to enjoy at your own pace. Stroll through local markets for souvenirs and spices, or uncover the fascinating secrets of ancient embalming techniques at the world’s first Mummification Museum. As the sun dips low, return to your cruise and prepare to set sail once again – this time toward the enchanting city of Edfu.

Day 5

Start your morning with a relaxing breakfast as your cruise glides gently along the Nile, heading toward the remarkable town of Kom Ombo. Here, on the very edge of the river, rises one of Egypt’s most intriguing temples – the Temple of Kom Ombo, a rare and mesmerizing double temple that’s unlike anything else along the Nile.

Built in the second century BC, this unique structure features a perfectly symmetrical design, with two identical halves mirroring each other. Each side is devoted to a different pair of gods – one to Sobek, the crocodile-headed god of fertility and creator of the world, and the other to Haroeris (Horus the Elder), the falcon-headed god of protection and light. As you walk through the temple’s halls with your knowledgeable leader, you’ll uncover the stories behind the intricate carvings and fascinating reliefs that adorn its walls – tales of medicine, myth, and ancient rituals still etched in stone.

After immersing yourself in the mysteries of Kom Ombo, return to your ship for a well-deserved lunch on board, enjoying the scenic views of the Nile as you continue sailing southward. By afternoon, you’ll arrive in Aswan – a serene and stunning city known for its golden desert landscapes, graceful palm trees, and some of Egypt’s most treasured archaeological wonders.

Day 6

This morning is yours to shape as you wish – whether you choose to relax and soak in the peaceful charm of Aswan or set off on a new adventure, the options are as rich as the history that surrounds you. Your leader will be happy to recommend an experience that matches your interests in this captivating corner of Egypt.

Wander through Aswan’s vibrant city center, where colorful bazaars tempt with spices, scarves, and handcrafted treasures. Dive deeper into ancient engineering with a visit to the impressive High Dam or marvel at the massive Unfinished Obelisk – an abandoned monument that offers a fascinating glimpse into ancient stone-carving techniques. For culture lovers, the Nubian Museum is a must, revealing the rich heritage and resilience of the Nubian people through beautifully curated exhibits.

Or, for those craving a truly unforgettable experience, journey south to the legendary temples of Abu Simbel. Built by the mighty Ramses II, this awe-inspiring masterpiece was carved straight into the mountainside. Four colossal statues of the pharaoh stand sentinel at the entrance, a breathtaking symbol of power that once marked the gateway to Egypt. It’s a sight that leaves even the most seasoned travelers in awe.

Later in the afternoon, unwind with a serene sailing trip aboard a traditional felucca. Let the Nile’s gentle breeze guide you past palm-fringed shores and golden sands as the sun begins to set. Then, return to the ship for a delicious dinner and a night of peaceful reflection beneath the stars.

Day 7

After a final breakfast aboard your Nile cruise, it’s time to bid farewell to the tranquil waters and magical nights of the river. But your journey through Egypt’s wonders isn’t over just yet. This morning, step into a fairytale as you visit the enchanting Philae Temple – a majestic sanctuary rising from the waters of an island in the Nile. Built during the reign of Ptolemy II around 280 BC, this temple is dedicated to the goddess Isis, and its elegant walls come alive with carvings of myth and magic – from the resurrection of Osiris, to the divine birth of Horus, and the sacred rituals of mummification.

Following your exploration, board a short flight back to Cairo, where ancient history and vibrant modern life collide. Upon your return, dive into the captivating chaos of the city’s Islamic district. With your leader guiding the way, step into the legendary Khan El-Khalili Bazaar – a swirling maze of narrow alleyways, bustling stalls, and timeless energy. Here, centuries of trade, craftsmanship, and culture come alive before your eyes. Smell the spices, hear the echo of craftsmen’s tools, and let yourself be swept up in the rhythm of old Cairo.

To end your Egyptian adventure on the perfect note, you’ll be welcomed into the home of a local Cairo family for a warm, traditional dinner. Over plates of lovingly prepared dishes and heartfelt conversation, you’ll share laughter, stories, and unforgettable memories – a true taste of Egypt that goes far beyond the sights.

Day 8

Your adventure through Egypt may be drawing to a close, but the memories will stay with you forever. There are no planned activities for your final day, so you’re free to depart whenever it suits you – whether you’re catching a flight or taking one last walk through the enchanting streets of Cairo.

If you’re not quite ready to say goodbye to this timeless city, why not stay a little longer? Whether it’s more ancient treasures or simply more time to soak in the atmosphere, we’d be delighted to help you arrange additional accommodation (subject to availability). After all, Cairo always has more secrets to share for those who linger just a little longer.
